Leeds Chamber Property Forum
The aim of this forum is to contribute positively and effectively to the future growth and development of the Leeds Metropolitan District. Its key objectives are to identify the needs of the City of Leeds to make it a regional capital and a leading European City . The Forum works closely with the City Council to provide a sector input to achieving this vision for Leeds . It also provides a sounding board for public sector infrastructure proposals and other major schemes brought forward in the City.
Objectives:
- to consider and assist with implementation of the infrastructure developments that will support the future economic growth of the City of Leeds
- to contribute positively to integrated spatial planning within the city
- to recognise vested interest and thus to avoid issues of conflict of interest
- to identify barriers and solutions to continued infrastructure development
- to maintain the position of Leeds Chamber and the private sector as a major partner in the future development of the City
- to add considerable value to current arrangements within the city.
Our members give their time free of charge and on the clear understanding that personal interest will be declared and set aside. It is this independence from personal interest that gives credibility and authority to the Forum and makes it an incredibly powerful resource to be used for the benefit of the City.
The Forum now has over 450 members comprising senior figures from all sectors of the property community and holds regular full group meetings to which all members are invited.
If you would like to join the Forum or would like any other information, please contact Ian Williams the Executive Director (Policy) on policy@leedschamber.co.uk or call 0113 247 0000.

Enabling works are currently being carried out near the bus station area of the Leeds city centre for the new John Lewis store, which involves moving and installing services such as water and gas below pavements and roads.
Public meetings are being organised to inform local businesses and residents of the nature of the 'enabling works' and how it could affect them, but if you would like to arrange an informal meeting to discuss this matter please email Michael Ward from Wrekin Construction Company Limited on michael_ward@wrekin.co.uk.
