A good transport system is crucial to a dynamic economy and transport links affect where businesses choose to locate. Leeds Chamber is at the forefront of many campaigns to increase government investment in roads, rail and public transport.
The Chamber proactively supports new developments to improve the transport system to reduce congestion throughout the City and this in turn will provide more options of travel for commuters.
Leeds Integrated Transport Partnership
Leeds Chamber at present chairs the Leeds Integrated Transport Partnership and is supportive of plans to improve the local road network. The Partnership is already involved in the development work involved with the Local Transport Plan and will continue to encourage more business involvement so that the needs of industry are not overlooked.
Leeds needs a better transport system for the continued success of its economy.
The next few years will be critical for Leeds as national and global competition intensifies. The city needs the Government to support develop a better transport system to ensure growth and prosperity. As well as making the city an attractive and better place to live, work, shop and do business, a Leeds super transport network will enhance our image as a competitive, vibrant leading European city.
